Rain?

My goodness the rain has been coming and coming! Maybe I need to learn how to build an ArK??? Anyway, I have two new family members added to our house. I went to a garage sale, and these two adorable cats kept purring and rubbing themselves on my legs. One is total black with green eyes, and the other was tan/white with green eyes. I couldn't resist them when the owner said "you can have em if ya want em"! Seriously he said it just like that! Apparently, they were a nusiance to this guy, cuz he said he was gonna shoot them if they didn't go. So, my husband and I scooped them up and brought them home. I thought for sure they would be freaked out in the car, but nope. They both laid down on the seat, and took a nap. It was like they knew, they were going to a better place. Poor guys were so skinny, they went threw a whole bag of cat food in one week and started eating the dog food. Darren said he even seen them with mice. Well that's one good thing. So now we've added Black Jack and Fred to the family. Couldn't be happier! There's nothing more relaxing then a purring kitty!

My Very First Blog!!

So here I go, my very first blog. Let me tell you a little about what I want this blog to be about. First,I named my blog Esther's Granddaughter, because of my grandma (kinda Obvious), she was my hero! She was the epitome of a Southern Woman. She had endless energy. She was always cooking, crafting, canning, fishing, gardening but most of all she always took care of others. I learned a lot from her and want share her legecy with everyone. Because of her, I'm a better woman!
So my blog will be dedicated to Esther Neely and  to all those people that have come and gone in our lives and taught us life lessons to make us better people!

Secondly, I'm very new at being a country girl. My husband and I just moved from our home in the city and are in the process of building our dream home in the woods. We're living in a single wide mobile home (I call it my practice home) until we can get the building process started. My husbands family are all from the country, so their all into farming, gardening, crafting and such. So, me trying to be the perfect wife, and country girl, I'm trying to learn all this. I'm also very new to primitive decorating. I fell in love with this style of home decor, when my husband who collects old bottles, crocks, marbles and such took me to an estate auction and I bought my first yellowware bowl. Now I'm hooked! So I'm trying to re-decorate my contempary home to primitive. I'm always looking at the things I have and trying to think of ways to "prim" it up.

They say we learn something new everyday, so I figured why not document my new experiences, maybe someone will learn something from me!

Come learn with me!
